About The Glacier Hotel, Les Diablerets
The hotel proudly carries a 4 Star Superior certificate and rightly so.
Walking through the two large automatic entry doors of the hotel brings you straight into the lobby, where a warm welcome awaits.
Check-in was quick and easy, and the kids each received a Chocolate Voucher. Each time they presented the voucher to the receptionists, they received a chocolate. Cute idea and a great way to make them feel special.
The comfortable chairs in the lobby or at the bar provide a great place to have a coffee, or a pre/post dinner drink.

The Rooms
The Eurotel Victoria Les Diablerets offers 101 rooms, junior suites and apartments. So, for sure you will find the perfect room for you and the family.
Some of the rooms are newly renovated and most of them have a balcony facing the Glacier 3000. It is also on this side of the hotel where you can soak in the sun over lunchtime.
We had a family suite with two rooms, one of which was the kid’s bedroom. The main room also had a comfortable seating lounge and a table with chairs. It was a very large room with lots of storage space which was perfect with all the ski clothing.
Another point we loved was the large sunny balcony and the uninterrupted views. Especially nice during the evening hours when the mountain tops turn golden and the blue hours set in.
Just magical.

Wellness & Pool
Nothing better than a hotel with a pool. A bit of a splash before dinner is always a great activity and helps make the kids hungry.
The 12m x 8m pool is heated to 26 degrees. I admit it is not the warmest pool but the kids managed to have fun for quite a long time, whilst we, the parents swam a few lengths.
Around the pool is some great fitness equipment should you feel the need to exercise even more.
Our suggestion would be to plan a pool and fitness visit during the morning, as you might get the place all to yourselves.
In the lower part, you will find a cosy wellness area consisting of a small sauna and a samarium (not as hot as the sauna), a relaxation area and even a massage room.
If you wish to have a treatment you need to pre book this with the hotel receptionist.

Special offers & packages
Check out the Official Hotel Website. Depending on the season you are visiting they may have a special offer running which is always a nice surprise when booking a family stay.
Dining at the Hotel
The meals are all served in the large dining area. Breakfast service is buffet style with a large choice of regional products. Lunch and evening meals are served to your table.
The kid’s menu has plenty of choices and should there really be nothing on the list that suits, maybe the adults 3 course menu has something on it that brings more joy.
As this is quite a large hotel, it can get quite busy during meal times.

More Hotel Facilities
I saw that the hotel also has a large congress centre and welcomes conferences and events on a regular basis.
Even the International Alpine Film Festival, which has taken place in Les Diablerets for 40 years is hosted at the hotel.
If you are planning a large family gathering, this would be the perfect place to organise such an event.
The hotel also has a supervised children’s play room. And during holiday times and weekends the kids can enjoy themselves there from 7pm to 9pm.

At the top of the gondola Meilleret starts the 7.2km long sledge run (toboggan). The run zigzags down the slopes of the Col de la Croix to Les Diablerets village. All along the run you can experience breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Glacier 3000.

In front of the hotel on the open space, lie several cross-country tracks. The tracks are from 2.5km all the way to 10km long and offer the choice of classic or free style.
At the same place and leading further afield one finds many kilometres of winter walks. Some are groomed and ideal for families.
Ice-skating hall
At the sports centre which is also next to the Glacier Hotel, Les Diablerets, a covered ice rink invites you to practice your pirouettes or for a game of hockey. You can rent the skates, puck and hockey stick right there.

Visit Glacier 3000
One of the main activities when which you cannot miss when in Les Diablerets is to visit Glacier 3000.
Whether you are going to ski or board at the top, or simply enjoy the most amazing views, a trip up to Glacier 3000 is a highlight of the Alpes Vaudoises.
You can take the public bus (10min) from Les Diablerets up to Col de Pillon. From there the scenic cable car station of Glacier 3000 awaits.
The 20-minute ride up to 3000-metre altitude will take your breath away and the journey itself is an adventure in its own right.
At the top at Scex Rouge, make your way to the Tissot peak to peak suspension bridge. The world’s first bridge connecting two mountain peaks.
The views are out of this world. Probably one of the best viewpoints in Switzerland so head up and see for yourself.
Up at Glacier 3000 you also have the chance to walk on the Glacier and a dedicated 3km winter walk will guide you to the Quille du Diable. A beautiful glacier hike from where you can see the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Mont Blanc and thousands of other mountain peaks.
By the Quille du Diable or also called la tour de St. Martin – is a Refuge and restaurant, ideal to enjoy the view down into the Valais and beyond.

What we loved – Conclusion
Our stay at The Glacier Hotel in Les Diablerets was superb. I have to confess it was not the first time we have stayed here.
Our last visit was during a 4 Day Alpes Vaudoises itinerary during the summer months, and we already loved it then.
The best thing for dad, and especially appreciated during our winter stay was not to touch the car for the entire stay. No snowy skis in and out of the car. Everything can be done on foot or with the local bus.
Apart from all the outdoor activities, the kids also loved the pool, the chocolate pass and the delicious dinners. It is not many times that dinner is part of their “what was best” list.
We loved the very comfortable beds, but most of all, the friendly service and uncomplicated approach to pretty much everything.
